Two Fears In One....

Yesterday Eric took me to Balboa Island to celebrate our anniversary. Yes, it was June 15th but with Father's Day and a lot going on we postponed our fun.

It took forever to find parking but we did it and walked quite far but that was ok as well, it was a beautiful day.

Eric said we should go on the Ferris Wheel. I said "Hell No" it will collapse with me on it. He brought up my YTL and so I prepared myself to breathe and went on..... and..... obviously I survived as I'm writing this blog. Here's some pics from that very event.....

Enjoying the view from up above. Yes, I was scared during this shot because we were at a dead stop.

This second shot was taken after we went around a couple of times and I knew I was ok. A little breathing now and then helps.....

Eric and I at the top. Yes, I'm smiling, in a little fear but I did it! Next stop that crazy ferris wheel at Disney's California Adventure. I will do it in August after my run there.

Next up we went to Eric's tattoo covered up and for him to get as he puts it "A real tattoo". You know it can get very boring sitting for a couple of hours so I decided it was best that I get over another fear and (a) fill in my current tattoo on my ankle and (b) get a tattoo on my foot. Yes, on my foot. I know people who have one there but I knew I couldn't handle the pain and well, I was wrong so I got this done to my foot and I really really like it....

The funny part was that it didn't hurt all too bad and now I want another one. What really hurt was getting my fairy touched up because of the scaring Quinn said the man covering the original tattoo had to do just to get the fairy there. Well, here she is with her completed purple body......

I'm glad I did face my fears. We ended up having a wonderful day and to end the day we had dinner seaside and enjoyed just being together (sappy I know, get over it) and though I'm in pain right now on my foot and meeting with my trainer in about an hour to jog and work out I will be ok. I've walked through two things I never thought I would and had faith that I'd be ok and I was.

Skinny Cinnamon Dolce Lattes make me purr...

I will have to do a good update soon but I've been soo busy, you know life, it happens.

On the quick side of things I'm addicted to Grande Iced Skinny Cinnamon Dolce Lattes at Starbucks. It's amazing how a drink can make you feel all warm inside when it's filled with ice. I so enjoyed my drink this morning and I'm still nursing it.

I felt I deserved this drink after taking a friends advice and jogging up a hill for training with running. Let me tell you.......IT'S A WORKOUT! The point of my blog entry today is to (1) realize I have this blog and need to post to it from time to time and (2) that jogging up hill is a real workout and I'm so amazed at how far I've come in the past year or so. I so rock! I can't wait for my "three mile race" as Tina puts it at Disneyland this August.

Off to another full day of life and that's just fine by me.

Super Excited!!!

Well, I've made the final reservation for our trip to Douglas & Savannah, GA. I booked the Bed & Breakfast for Kaila and I to stay at our final night in Georgia.

It's in the Historic District and there are tours right near by. The best part it was only $129. for a cottage. This Bed & Breakfast has a set rate for Monday - Wednesday (: To think I was going to book a standard room and was told I could have any room they had that was available. Here's a link to what I picked, The Ivy Cottage which is super private and well, I just can't wait! Scroll to the bottom of the page to get a glimpse of the cottage.

I can't wait to see my family as well. We may go down to Florida and see some family that lives there.

Yeah to Vacations, even the short ones.

A Day Out

Kaila and I enjoyed at day at The Grove. We saw Indiana Jones with her friend Zeyna and mother Maisa and then the dads and other kids joined and we all had dinner at Maggianos Little Italy.

I realized more my little girl is growing up. I took a couple of pics and it showed me she's really is my big girl now but she'll always be my baby.

Books, Books, and More Books

Well, I've been tagged by Ang to do this book Meme and well, here it goes......

Total number of books I've owned:

I'm very unsure. In the past I was a very avid reader but since dear Kaila was born not so much. I couldn't give an exact count but I've tried to instill in my daughter the reading bug and at this point she has about 60 books, does that count?

The last book I bought:

The last book I bought was "The Painted Veil" by W. Somerset Maugham. I tried to buy it used but just couldn't find it so I broke down and bought it new. I'd just seen the movie and know books are usually much better so I had to get it.

The last book I read:

I recently finished "A Year to Live" by Stephen Levine. It's a great book and makes you really think about life and all we do and go through.

Five books that mean something to me:

1. All time favorite book "Little Women" by Louisa May Alcott. Yes, I'm a goober who loves old stories. I just find this book so enjoyable from beginning to end.

2. "Lord of The Flies" by William Golding. I went through a lot as a teenager and it's odd though not a happy go lucky type of book I was able to escape what I felt and just read this over and over.

3. "A Long Fatal Love Chase" by Louisa May Alcott. I just enjoy this book and it's so great to see how she as an author thought outside the box back when she wrote her novels. Sure this wasn't published until many years later but I love the book none the less.

4. "_____" I'm a fan of memoirs so I will read just about any but I don't just have one I can input. So for number 4 I select all memoirs I've ever read as I get to know more about a person and what goes on in their minds.

5. "Midnight in The Garden of Good & Evil" by John Berendt. Reading this book actually takes you right into Savannah. The way everything is described in this book from the land around to the characters is just amazing to me. This book starting me on my quest of my love for the Souths architecture and why I love to visit the South from time to time.

These are just some of the books I enjoy. It's weird but nightly we read with Kaila and she's reading the whole Junie B Jones series and I'm enjoying it too. It's like the Judy Blume of my day.

I tag Dave & Sheila & anyone who would like to share what they enjoy to read.

One Down....

Follow your dream.... take one step at a time and don't settle for less, just continue to climb
~Amanda Bradley

That being said I got out of some fear (Yeah) and called to enroll in this class and I have an interview for it next Wednesday. I let the man know I'm really doing this for fun and to try something I'm afraid of doing and he said that is just fine. He said lots of people do it for the same reason. I love that it is 5 minutes from my house as well.

Crossing my fingers I'm accepted and if so I will be in a class every Monday and Wednesday from 7 to 11 PM and I can't wait to see what comes of this adventure.

It's up to HP if I get in or not but I'm just excited I'm even trying!
